Maria Moolick - Kildare player of the year 2011

Maria has had a very successful underage career with the Leixlip club winning U14, U16 and Minor titles. This continued on to the adult grades winning junior, intermediate and senior titles with Leixlip. Maria played a true captains role in this years county final when she led her team to an unexpected victory over Balyna. She also has 2 Leinster medals to her name. Maria was part of the All-Ireland winning Kildare team who won the Junior All Ireland in 2004. Previous awards for Maria include Kildare U14 player of the year and senior player of the year in 2007. She will receive the Kildare ladies footballer of the year at the Kildare GAA awards in Athy GAA on Fri 25th November. This award is much deserved for her never-give-up attitude to her game and she is always on hand to pop over a point or two. She was the Kildare vice-captain for this years campaign where she lined out in the midfield position for most of the games but covered every blade of grass during a game. After her long year with Leixlip and Kildare, Maria is on a well-deserved holiday and her award will be accepted on the night by her mother, Kathleen.
